Officer Nominations Open through Jan. 15!

Nominations are now open for selected Mississippi Communication Association officers for 2025.  Please see the information below on how you can nominate someone for an open position.

ABOUT THE OFFICERS & ELECTIONS
This year’s nominating committee is currently being formed. The qualifications and responsibilities of each officer, along with the process for nominating and electing each, can be found in Article IV of the MCA constitution at http://www.misscom.org/mca-constitution.html.

POSITIONS OPEN
The following officer position is open for nominations:

• Second Vice-President (1-year term)

Terms of service will begin at the close of the annual conference on February 7, 2025, to be held on the Mississippi College campus in Clinton.

HOW TO SUBMIT A NOMINEE

To submit a name—yourself or someone else—email Dr. Phillip Poe at Dr. Philip Poe at [email protected] with the following information:

• Name of nominee
• Position and place of employment
• A note of approximately 100 words describe why your nominee (or you) would be a good choice for the position
• If you are nominating someone else, a one-sentence acknowledgement from that individual of their willingness to be placed on the ballot and serve if elected

All nominees submitted who meet the criteria for holding office as determined by the Nominating Committee will be put on the ballot at the 2024 conference.  All individuals on the ballot will be expected to attend the annual conference in 2025 and accept the office if elected.  Nominees who do not attend the annual conference in 2025 will be removed from the ballot.

DEADLINES
The deadline to submit a nominee is January 15, 2025.  A ballot will be sent to all members no later than February 1, 2025.  Voting will be held during the annual business meeting at the conference on February 7, 2025.
